I absolutely love videos that discuss how food relates to colonialism and the renaming of popular dishes and ingredients for the sake of the (white) colonizer. For example, did you know that the term “curry” does not exist in Indian cuisine?

Can’t believe there was not one but TWO internationally renowned films that came out from India last year that discuss the subject of womanhood in a country where sexual violence and misogyny are rampant. And both of them were stunning in visuals and storytelling <3
