While not a classic airborne disease, norovirus is another bug that can be transmitted through the air. Vomiting and diarrhoea can create aerosols which could be ingested directly or deposit on surfaces. Hand hygiene, surface hygiene and ventilation can all help mitigate.
NEW #NOROVIRUS DATA: cases are still increasing, 29.4% higher than the previous 2-week period. 📈

People who have already had the virus this winter could be at risk again, as new data shows shift in circulating genotypes 1/2.

"The utility of this overall approach is that the model describes airborne disease transmission in a way that better describes what is actually happening. For example, clearly short distance transmission is more likely and important to consider."

Aerosol can stay in the air for days. So, why then does it readily deposit in your lungs? Why isn’t it simply exhaled?

In my latest explainer video I discuss how/where aerosol deposits in the lungs, and how a misunderstanding of this process has led to confusion around masks.
