Former NY Times reporter, ladies and gentlemen. The contents of the Epstein emails are not newsworthy. Only the manner of their release.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

Anthem BC/BS came back, 10 months later, and decided that it was going to deny me and my son's rabies treatments, after already approving the claim last December.

Denying a claim where if treatment were not given, results in death 100% of the time!

Derek Guy never misses on the photos he uses to prove his point. The guy in the left looks *so cool*
On the upside, a thicker, fluffier fabric means a warmer hoodie. It also allows the hood to stand up on your shoulders, rather than falling limp across your back. This is not necessarily better or worse, just an aesthetic detail to consider.

RFK Jr. has said he does not want to take vaccines away from Americans. But at a closed-door meeting of vaccine scientists in September, a top official at the FDA suggested doing just that. Here's how Vinay Prasad and Tracy Beth Høeg are reshaping vaccine regulation:

How two top FDA officials are quietly upending vaccine regulations
Vinay Prasad and Tracy Beth Høeg mix skepticism with new ways to define risk in pursuing sweeping changes to vaccine policy at the FDA.

This is the type of dad that was not involved in the daily labor of child rearing.
The type of dad that does not go to his kid's doctor's appointments.
The type of dad who does not know the name of his kid's kindergarten teacher.

also i told jamal osman on election night that elizabeth shaffer had won and he told me a story about asking for safe needle disposal in a park and shaffer saying no because it will "encourage drug use." he was just like "it'll encourage kids not stepping on needles!"

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

Is it because the Mayor can't get the police to do their jobs? Is it because we haven't invested nearly enough in non-police public safety programs? Is it because the Mayor's homelessness response is a total policy failure? Is it because we're offended by the sight of poor people existing in public?

Why is the City's answer to public safety almost always to make our home a worse place to live? Why can't we have places for people to sit at one of the busiest bus stops in the City? Why is the answer to just give up, throw up our hands and not try to reach people?

Rather than replace the benches in the current art installation, MPRB wants all seating removed and for the area to be fenced off because of "public safety issues." Similarly, Council Member Jamal Osman joined MPRB Commissioner Elizabeth Shaffer and the Park Police in requesting they all be removed.

Someone on here pointed out that there are a lot of alternative “medicine” grifters in the Trump orbit. Insurance companies require evidence of effectiveness before they agree to pay for things.
Just in case someone doesn’t know this: one reason individual health insurance was so expensive before was that it’s generally a lot cheaper to insure groups. (Not just bulk discounts but the fact that you don’t need to do individual underwriting.) The ACA turned individuals into a big group.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

His children lose their father's care.

Our economy loses his skill.

Our treasury loses his tax payments.

This family separation makes America poorer & less joyful.

President Reagan's amnesty program would have let him become a citizen after paperwork & paying $185 ($550 w/inflation).
It has been enormously difficult to see our members at American Families United go through forced family separation. Here's the story of Jenni and her husband. "Mexican father, reflecting a trend, leaves family of 19 years and self-deports due to threat of arrest."

Fidel Rivera, a husband and father who has been in the U.S. for 30 years, is one of thousands of undocumented migrants who have self-deported due to the threat of arrest.

Women born with vaginas, raised as girls are suddenly not sufficiently womanly enough. They're branded as "men" and humiliated. They are stripped of everything they have worked to achieve and called cheats. It only serves to police womanhood based on the ability to be a breeding vessel.

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.
