After five years, Zoro thought he knew all the different ways his heart reacted to Sanji, but the ache he was feeling now was new. He wasn't sure he liked it. He couldn't identify what was bothering him about this new ache and that was making it worse. They stayed in the infirmary and got some more advice about feeding and nap schedules, but Zoro was barely listening. He was too focused on Sanji. Sanji looked like he was paying attention to Chopper, but his leg was bouncing and his visible eye was slightly glazed over. When Chopper finally dismissed them, they went back to the aquarium to put the girls down for a nap. "Here, Curls, give them all to me. I'm gonna take a nap too," Zoro said, getting comfortable in one of the bunks as Sorrel snuggled closer into his belly. He carefully adjusted her so that she could still breathe. Sanji still looked haunted as he helped get the girls settled, gently brushing his finger over each girl's nose. Zoro took a chance, trusting his gut, and grabbed Sanji's other hand, squeezing carefully and reassuringly. Sanji whipped his head over to look at him, eyes wide with shock. But he didn't snatch his hand away. Emboldened, Zoro rubbed his thumb over the pale knuckles. "I won't pretend to know what has you so rattled, Cook, but if you need anything, let me know." He released Sanji's hand, not wanting to be the cause of even more stress for the tightly-wound man. "Hell, if you need to spar later, I'd be down for that. It's been a couple of days since we last fought. I'm sure Usopp or Robin or someone would watch the girls for us." Sanji flexed the hand Zoro had held like he didn't know what to do with it. After a moment, he looked at Zoro with a weak smile. "Thanks, Moss. I'll let you know. I'm gonna go... prep food." Zoro nodded and settled in for his nap. Hopefully, cooking would help calm Sanji's nerves. And if it didn't? Well, he really could use a fight.

This is the beverage. It’s very good. It’s from Albuquerque, according to the can.

Zoro took the pan, enjoying the aroma of the soy sauce, sugar, and vinegar as it wafted toward him. He poured the mixture over the meat and took the rubber spatula Sanji offered him to combine the ingredients. "Okay, let that sit. Now, I can't remember, are you right- or left-handed?" "Either, actually." Sanji rolled his eyes and mumbled, "Of course you're ambidextrous." Pulling a small bowl of water toward them, he then said at normal volume, "Alright, get your hands damp and dab a little salt on each palm. Then pick one hand to be the rice hand and one hand to be the working hand." Zoro salted his hands and grabbed a small amount of rice into his right hand, looking at Sanji for approval before reaching for a spoonful of the dragon meat in the bowl. Sanji nodded, grabbing his own rice and a smaller portion of meat. Together, they each pressed a small divot into the rice before placing the meat and then grabbed another small handful of rice.

He grabbed himself a couple of crackers to help speed up the settling, since he needed to make a couple of pounds of bacon too. Luffy. would be content with any meat but was always happiest with pork. He went to the pantry and saw the maple syrup, deciding that pancakes would be a good way to satisfy Chopper, the ladies, Usopp, and Luffy. Or depending on how he felt by the time the ladies showed up, he could do crepes instead. He also grabbed the tub of electrolyte mix that Chopper had developed. As much as his body was crying for comforting foods, he knew what he really needed was hydration, as would everyone else. He puttered around, sipping on his drink while bacon snapped in the pan. The coffee was ready for Robin. The pancake or crepe batter was resting and waiting. He peeled a couple of mikans to garnish and juiced a couple others to make a syrup. Just as he was transferring the syrup to a container, the door opened and Sanji was treated by the most radiant sight of all: Robin and Nami, strolling into the galley, whispering to each other, their hair still drying from their morning showers. "Ahhh! Good morning, my beautiful flowers!" Sanji greeted, wincing along with Nami at his volume.

"I do. I mean— I want— I need— I gotta think," Sanji stammered and ran from the galley. Like a coward. He didn't know where he was going, since the galley was his usual sanctuary, all he knew was that he never wanted to see that wounded look on Zoro's face ever again. [three emojis as a section break, the emojis are a knife, a ghost, and a bear] The next morning, everyone was nursing hangovers-Sanji included. Through slitted eyes, he dressed and made his way to the galley to prepare breakfast. It was time to put the new kitchen through its paces. He groaned as he thought about the mess he had left behind last night when he bolted from the galley in panic. He deserved the punishment of having to clean the galley while hungover for what he did to Zoro. Blueballing himself wasn't enough. He needed the penance of scrubbing dried, sticky fruit juice from the counters while the morning sunlight stabbed his eyes. When he opened the door, he had to blink a few times, unsure what he was seeing. His galley wasn't pristine but it was tidy, and certainly cleaner than he anticipated. He ran his hand along the peninsular island counter, expecting resistance and finding none. His knives were all clean, sharpened, and put away. The sink was empty. The fruit he had been cutting was gone. There were a few dishes in the dish rack, sure, but it was big things like the pitcher that hadn't been given a better home in the galley.
