Never thought to try meowing at the ladies myself. That's one way you're cleverer than I was, daughter, and the best thing about other girls? Only rarely do they leave you with kittens and run off with miss ruby lips from the boulevard. God, I hated her. I hope she's well.

Back then you could just find a fish in the strangest places. It was almost a game. But it was a good time, and there were plenty of us running fish or card games.

Oh, I could run, daughter. I could jump. Not like these damn legs now - I was quick. All the toms wanted the attention of miss semi sweet, but most of em got the claws.
