If there is a god, he is a coward and he is cruel. But I suspect it is only nature, unforgiving and unrelenting.

There is no longer a god I can place blame on. When my loved ones are sick, I can’t tell them I’ll pray for them. Hope seems like it is only another word for luck and all of it is hard luck.

However, I’m still angry and I have nowhere left to place it. Yelling at all of existence about the brevity that I am subject to is empty. And it’s that brevity I’ve become most angry about. Someday I’ll lose my wife or she’ll lose me. I’ll lose my cat, my siblings, my nieces and nephews, my friends
