Our Board Chair, Ben Skinner, commended our community for their courageous organizing and stressed the importance of investing in our nonprofit at this critical time.

Worker Council members shared their experiences and why the #FashionWorkersAct is meaningful to them.

“Laws are only effective when they are enforced,” explained Ziff. “That’s why we aim to run a Know Your Rights campaign to ensure those who work in New York’s modeling industry understand their newfound rights and feel empowered to exercise them once the law takes effect in June.”

Teen Vogue style director Alyssa Hardy and our executive director Sara Ziff then led a fireside chat about the significance of the #FashionWorkersAct and the work ahead.

Our host Steph Stephenson, co-chair of the Cordes Foundation, kicked off the celebration by sharing our unified vision of a more equitable and sustainable fashion industry.

Hosted by the Cordes Foundation and models Kenza Fourati, Liris Crosse, and Madhulika Sharma, the intimate event was a special opportunity to recognize our progress, hear reflections from worker leaders, and raise funds for the work ahead.

This week, the Model Alliance community came together to celebrate the passage of the #FashionWorkersAct, our signature law that will establish essential rights and protections for models working in New York's fashion industry beginning this June.

We invited members of our Worker Council to reflect on their journey campaigning for the #FashionWorkersAct — and to share what they hope it will mean for the future.

Last week, our ED Sara Ziff delivered the keynote address at the Federal Bar Association’s Fashion Law Conference, hosted at Dunnington Bartholow & Miller LLP in NYC.

We joined Congressman @khanna.house.gov and reps from Google, Meta, @seiu.org and @sagaftra.org, among others, for a discussion hosted by our partner @omidyarnetwork.bsky.social in Silicon Valley about the impact of AI on the future of work.
