This is utterly dreadful and very close to home. My thoughts are with all those affected and the brave emergency responders.
Two dead in Manchester synagogue attack, with suspect shot dead by police
Video from the scene, verified by the BBC, shows a man with items strapped around his waist. The attack happened on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

@aerlingus.bsky.social could you explain how a carry on bag in Manchester Airport Terminal 1 was acceptable but not for the return leg from Belfast City Airport? Same company. Different policies applying?

This is fantastic news. Thank you to @sharonhodgsonmp.bsky.social for many years of campaigning with the APPG @apsenews.bsky.social
After campaigning on this for over 18 years, I am so pleased to see that this Government will extend free school meals support. Providing more children than ever with a healthy, hot, nutritious meal will truly change lives, particularly in the most deprived areas such as some of those in the NE.

A very poignant image from the Daily Mirror ‘Victory and Peace in Europe’. Don’t lose it again. Peace is fragile. We owe to those who gave their lives to always work towards lasting peace. #VEday

It was fantastic to open the @foodmuseumuk.bsky.social in Stowmarket’s first-of-its-kind School Dinners exhibition this week. It was a truly brilliant event and has been getting the national attention it deserves! The exhibition is open for 2 years, and I cannot recommend a visit enough.

“I smelled the farm long before I saw it,” writes TBIJ's Andrew Wasley. “Many of the animals were caked in excrement and muck” 👇

@lner.co.uk Thank you to a lovely crew on the 8AM Edinburgh Waverley to Peterborough train. The train had to terminate at Newcastle but not before they carefully provided a train-to-train evacuation of stranded passengers on another train. The driver and crew are a credit to LNER. 👏🏻
