Report on the Jasper wildfire was just released. It mentions the likely fire tornado had damage similar to an EF4-EF5 tornado. The NTP is currently analyzing this event and hopefully we will get information about the number of tornadoes and intensity soon. #abstorm #abfire

A wildfire in Itcha Ilgachuz Provincial Park is likely generating a tornadic fire vortex (a fire tornado) per CASPG radar. It is appearing up to a depth of ~3.35 km. #bcstorm #bcfire

OTD in 2024, a high-intensity wildfire raced through Jasper National Park. The fire generated at least four tornadic vortices all of which were likely significant. This was, in my opinion, one of the more impressive fire tornadic events on record. #abstorm #abfire

4 years ago on this day, the East Troublesome Fire made a 37 km run overnight to the Continental Divide. This is likely the single most extreme fire event recorded in Colorado in modern times. #cowx
