I'd get much needed repairs on my car w/ 280k miles on it (& start setting aside $$$ for a new 1). I'd be less hesitant to do some bigger home improvement projects- like buy a utility building from local carpenters. Pay off my current accruing medical debt. Finally buy a digital tablet for art 🥲

I realize now the sentiment I shared is expressed throughout the quoted thread.
I guess I misunderstood that ppl were saying what he said was a lie. Stuff like that can happen (bringing cultural baggage across borders) but that also assimilation isn't impossible either just bc ur an immigrant 😐

But... Is this not kinda what white ppl from Europe did when they came to the Americas and wiped out Indigenous populations, colonized thru culture and religion, & here we are 100s of years later STILL feeling the negative impact? 1/

It's caused me to create new sets of tools, reorganize my texture files, and try new things while picking a few to become regular trademarks.
I also reference my OLD art (10+ yrs) for any clues on what's persisted & maybe what to bring back.

Not a mutual, but Peak is fun! My first run was very frustrating even with 2 ppl guiding me lol I'm 33 hrs in now 😆
Played today for the new Roots update! I have only unlocked the second level in the regular Peak levels. I think I've played 90% of my time in Tenderfoot 🤭

My fave are the top two houses. Even though the lines are dark blue, when I look at it, I see them in color- each section is drawn in a different color.
Nice use of soft and curved shape language. A very cheerful atmosphere 😊

I've had the same feeling & desire to detach from the screen. I started doing "couch doodles" as I call them. Completely different art style/subject to experience creation & joy differently.
Nothing too complex, but something that uses tangible medium akin to our youthful starts in art 🎨☺️

In 20 years, I've had 4 phones starting with a prepaid Nokia. My last android was a refurbished Moto that I used for 8 years and HAD to upgrade because it started to malfunction. My 'new' phone is still a refurbished phone.

I went to school for illustration. I was told even by my teachers there's more money to be made in graphic design 🫤 (which graphic design is my job, and I appreciate the separation for burnout reasons, but hell, show some support for your own students LOL).

GenAI was created unethically and illegally. A program founded on this principles really can't be "good" for society imo. It sets a bad precedent for future technologies. But that's just my opinion 4/4.
