Happy new Year!

We start the new year with some #AutoML content. In September, we had our annual AutoML school, as always, with amazing speakers. Some of the talks are now available online. You can find them via the AV portal of the TIB: av.tib.eu/series/1849

Roughly 3 months ago, we organized the 3rd #AutoML Conference in Paris. It was amazing and I still love to think back, awesome talks, deep discussions and great parties 🤩

Many thanks to Oliver Bringmann (Uni Tübingen) for inviting me to the edaforum of the edacentrum GmbH. There is quite some gap between the #AI community and the #chip community, but we need to close this gap, if we really want to make real progress with AI.

Maybe it was a long or short one, but most likely not an easy one. Nevertheless, I'm very happy to say that it was definitely a very successful one. Yesterday, @theeimer.bsky.social defended her PhD thesis and the committee agreed without any discussion that she should be awarded "summa cum laude".

The most important factor to ensure high-quality papers at a conference is still peer-reviewing. To make #AutoML24 a success, we are looking for reviewers who are willing to review a few papers in March and April. So, be part of it by nominating yourself. Please share.

Yesterday in Munich, today at the L3S Research Center Retreat in the Harz. As the leading #AI think tank in Lower Saxony, I'm very happy to be a member of it and to represent all the chances opened up by #AutoML. Many thanks to the entire #L3S Team.

Today I was at the AI Double Feature Workshop at the Center for Advanced Studies of the LMU Munich and talked about "From Predictions to Sustainability: Rethinking AutoML Priorities", arguing that we need a new mindset on how we should build #AI systems with #AutoML.
