It’s not about building a best plan for the party, it’s brand building as part of intra party feuding.

The load bearing perspective for me on climate reaction is the ancient @chrislhayes.bsky.social article comparing the fossil fuel economy to the slave economy.

My employer coverage (previously excellent, still pretty good) used a $15/check premium reduction to sneak in a $2000 increase to the deductible and out of pocket max.

Fun timing with a baby coming in April.

The 2021 tight job market got me out of the underemployment situation I’d been in since graduating in 2012. My income has quadrupled from poverty level to 70th percentile since 2019.

Obviously anecdotal but a lot of people’s incomes are way up! A brief full employment economy was life changing!

Raleigh (population 500,000) has a part time Mayor. That last person in the seat was in charge of business development for a major construction company. It’s ridiculous.

The gap between where it’s priced as a moonshot meme stock and what it’s worth as a car company is so vast, that the only thing that people who are in the stock can do is to continue to bet on the moonshots.

If Elon did leave and this gets priced like a car company, it probably crashes 85%.

Do we ever get to define “Tough on crime” as fighting violations of securities, worker safety, and environmental laws

I want a public internet. I want the postal service to provide email and the parks department to run social media sites!

It would take real investment and iteration and creativity - things the capitalists convince us that only they can do - but I don’t believe them.
