Makes sense. Portland is inland, whereas you have ocean breezes attacking you on 3 sides in SF

Wind, moisture, its latitude and because temps are taken in the shade. 14 degrees feels similarly cold in Australia. Similarly, I would take -15 and sunny in Edmonton over 3 degrees and rainy in Vancouver.

Google ultimately wants to lead its searchers to more revenue and has a theory that AI overviews will accomplish this easier than if the user clicks off of Google. The biggest casualties are sites that used to appear for queries where Google can make top dollar if a sale is made

I saw your edit history on FB - I still contend that Piazza counts here :)

Mike Piazza? You mentioned it's a bit of a trick and he was Marlin for mere days

"Full Moon Fever" is as much of a Southern California album as "Straight Outta Compton." My dad had "Full Moon Fever" on a constant loop in the car for about a year (or maybe 2) following its release. "Straight Outta Compton" was effectively forbidden fruit. Both are outstanding.

And at Hebrew school, you would likely need to use their first and last name, or some sort of odd nickname.

Though it's admittedly odd seeing a byline of "Cohen" and knowing that it's a first name and that there's no way the kid is Jewish, whereas 85%+ of people who would respond to "Hey, Cohen" in 1990 would have been of Jewish descent at least.

The first three songs on "Raw Like Sushi" are better than anything on "Automatic," but it drops off substantially. And since I'm a JAMC fan, my vote went there.

Done by the Forces of Nature is a fantastic album - I don't think I heard it until 2002 or 2003, and I've never owned/lived it.

As an American who admittedly discovered the Stone Roses upon the release of "Second Coming," my experience is very different than Brits who experienced it first hand - the track sequencing is somewhat different and "Fools Gold" closes my well worn disc. It's an all time favourite of mine.

I'm a bit younger than you are - so, sometime in 1994, around when "Closer" became a thing and I bought "The Downward Spiral." I think I then procured "Broken" from a used cd store and PHM from a record club. I never liked "Pretty Hate Machine" as much as TDS. "Head Like a Hole" still rips.

As they are the closest thing to a local band that would ever make one of these tournaments, I need to vote for NMN for the long haul.

i wish you could edit these - that first line makes no real sense, but you get the gist of what I'm communicating
