the car will move without any reason apparent to the motorcyclist who can't see the tim-tams because the car is in the way ... motorcyclists are then forced against the side medians which are substantial and unyielding ... these treatments are not impacting a bicycle lane though, so ... win?

these have been added to protect tram stops along Royal Pde in Melbourne in the centre traffic lanes ... having cars move over to give pedestrians alighting approx 1.5m space is a good thing ... pity that I've seen many motorcyclists try to move past on the off side and get unexpectedly squeezed ...
