116 legal and policy experts have now opposed Labor’s new powers for police to recommend cutting payments from people without them even having been convicted of a crime.

Cops shouldn’t be anywhere near welfare law and Labor should withdraw this amendment. www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/treat...

No. It's you, Albo. Sadly it's you. You are the biggest challenge facing Australia today. You don't represent Australia's interests. You represent & enforce The Murdochracy's neoliberalism. You could've ... it doesn't matter now. You didn't.

An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

The skills Australia will need, decades from now, we can only guess. The best we can do is remove obstacles to people pursuing their interests. When the time comes, we'll at least have the products of those interests to work with.

Not as definite as some might like, but that's reality.

I'm sorry folks but this is energy industry propaganda being pushed to exploit the hyper-focus on the Coalition rake-stepping: SPECIFICALLY to advance an agenda to extend coal plant lifespans and mask utility climate failures. This is really bad stuff and v worrying

Another way of looking at this is if each of the US’s 19,000 cities, towns & villages had their own solar thermal plant, THE MEAN AVERAGE would be 2sq km or .77sq miles.

Less than a square mile doesn’t seem so bad, does it.
One ~182km x ~211km solar thermal plant could provide all of America’s electricity, including a fully-electrified land transport sector.

100% clean power from just 0.39% of U.S land.

That’s why renewables are constantly under attack from the fossil fuel industry and their paid mouthpieces.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

I didn’t have a name for it, but having a certain degree of visibility, it was clear to me years ago that people were responding to a thing that they had just straight up imagined that I had said. After a while you can’t even really be that angry about it, just sad.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy
