genuinely, I think it's a very good thing if you give the transfems in your life a safe space to talk about all the horrifically traumatic things they've gone through and also told them how fucked up some of those things are because we'll often downplay so many things and need to hear it
I am continually amazed at the things transfems have gone through and how much we all endure and still manage to persist. None of us deserve any of it, but we soldier on and sometimes it's nice to swap stories and commiserate about it

For the record, HIV+ status is if anything an advantage in becoming my friend. I believe strongly in solidarity & reparations, & as a queer person I feel I have a responsibility to make up for some of the shittiness HIV+ people endure.
