I am a photographer, musician, graphic designer and a writer. This is my photo space. I hope it brings all its viewers joy! Love triumphs over hate!
Dec. 8 - Day 1 of Over Exposed (over exposures). I’ll bet you thought I forgot. You’d be right, but I remembered last minute! Good thing I have my mourning dove buddies out eating my seeds. They leave me interesting foot prints. 🤣

My challenge doesn’t start until Monday, but I have a miserable cold, so I may as well play around with my photos while I can’t do much else. Thus, here begins some over exposures…. 😉

My next challenge is going to be creating art photography with over exposed images. This one is exaggerated greatly, but is an example of what I mean. Monday I am going to see what types of images I can create using over exposure for 10 days. Feel free to join in!! Love seeing everyone’s work!

Last day of Critters. Day 5…Dec 5. Seagulls are so gutsy. When they want their food, they will harass you everywhere! Even on the hood of your car! Lol

Day 4…Dec 4. Critters. One more day of Critters and then I’ll be doing more of a creative challenge. I’ll start that on Monday. Meanwhile, here’s a ground squirrel that randomly found a corn cob on the trail out back. I’m sure a raccoon or porcupine dragged it from the corn field.

I went down to the mailbox….

Day 3…Dec 3. Critters. For those who think turkeys don’t fly or roost in trees…. On the way to take my tire into the shop, we saw a group (or a gang) of turkeys hanging out in a corn field next to the road. I just grabbed a couple of shots for the heck of it.

Day 2…Dec 2 Critters challenge. Here are two photos of the birds who appear to never want to leave our house: blue jays and mourning doves. They are here for every season, so yes. I put out water (heated bird bath) and seeds. I am a critter fanatic…

Not my critter shot for the day’s challenge, but we are digging ourselves out. Over the last few days we’ve gotten about two feet of snow up here in Northern Michigan! Whoo hoo! And we have tracks on our 4-wheeler so I’ll be out in the woods soon…. 😉

Today begins my new challenge: Critters. I am cleaning up my computer and have already deleted over 10,000 photos I will never use from over the years, and I figured I needed to go through all my animal shots.

The food crazy has passed, I wound up the last challenge. Monday I will start a new one. Meanwhile, a decorated tree.

Nov 26…Day 10. Took 1 photo and changed to monochrome in 4 different colors as a study. Interesting…

Nov 25…Day 9. Monochromatic. I chose a pinkish color and a purple color for these images based on the flowers. Taking images from the obvious black and white to “replacing” the black with a color has really been opening up my thought processes. This is why ai love doing simple challenges.

My daughter’s snail…

Nov 24…Day 8 of monochromatic. One of the cool things I am learning with monochromatic is how a color makes me feel in regard to an image. Certain colors tend to make me feel a certain way or change my interpretation of that image. 2 more days and this was a great idea.

Nov 23…Day 7. Monochromatic. These are some of the deer who like to eat all the seeds from around my bird feeder. I didn’t get the clarity I had hoped, but you can see those little poops. They aren’t even afraid of me anymore. They just watch me.

Nov 23…Day 7. Monochromatic. I wanted to try a shot with no real background (it was against the sky…easy removal) and one with lots going on everywhere. I find, personally, not a fan of the lily, but I do like the pine tree “blossom”.

Nov 22…Day 6 of Monochromatic. I used a sunset with a lot of color in the sky. Lots of adjusting for black and white, but I’m kind of liking it.

It’s hunting season by us, and Fargo looks like a wolf to many people, even though he’s not. So, to make him noticeable as a dog to everyone, when he goes outside he wears a bright orange vest and lots of lights. I think my daughter might be overdoing it a tad, though….

Nov 22 - Day 6. Monochrome. The way I “exaggerated?” the black and white, the angle and bareness of the tree, I almost feel like this house might be haunted! That’s just me, though.

Nov 21…Day 5. Went for a walk on the beach. I tried a couple different colors, but really just liked the sand brown so I stayed with it.
November 21, 2025 at 10:47 AM
Another monochromatic shot for Fay 4 - Nov 20. I think this is one of my favorites. I took it two days ago at the beach when I went for a walk with my dog, Franklin. I used my Nikon with a telephoto lens.

Nov 20…Day 4 of monochromatic challenge. Trying to find the right colors is a challenge for sure, but it’s a fun learning experience.
