I'm investigating using MudBun to do a procedural mesh for our Mist instead of a volumetric fog. Thoughts?

Utilizing the new "mist can be cleared in large chunks" code, if I clear a path from a location to another location I can clear away large triangles.

The idea is if the player claims an important location like a Pillar, they "link" together and clear all the mist away.

I think this works!

Working on making the mist clearing a little more interesting by allowing the player to carve out large chunks. I'm not sure it will work with our map scale but it's pretty satisfying to play with. #GameDev #IndieDev #Unity

Ok, It's not perfect, but it's much much better. All told map gen takes about 8 seconds now. This is me officially celebrating the win!

I spent the day fixing a performance issue that was making our map generation take over 45 seconds. I really wanted to share some cool art or a new game mechanic but instead you get to see the new load times!

I love this little particle effect, we use this for one of the attacks from The Mist. I wanted a low-poly smoke monster and it works. Gives me Gengar vibes 🤣
