I still think about this film from time to time, particularly about the character's London 2012 sweatshirt.

Filmed in 2005, it was so prescient in depicting the London Olympics as one of the UK's last fully functional good times, before the rise of the far right and all the shit that brought.

I wonder if one Nigel Farage knows what the other Nigel Farage has been saying.

It's no wonder there's an impasse: the EHRC guidance is clearly at odds with the 2010 Equality Act. Things should never have been allowed to go this far.

Time to call out the culture war BS and return to basics. Trans rights are protected human rights.

Bigotry is not a protected characteristic.

Fascism doesn't happen overnight though: it starts out as populism. The fascist needs the power of the people to subjugate the people.

The telling word in this article is "yet".

Even Theresa May's QC admitted Brexit would have been annulled if the referendum had been binding. Legally, the referendum result was only allowed to stand because it was merely advisory... yet the government treated it as totally binding.

Again, a bait and switch.

When someone who said "Hitler was right" starts telling you "we need to leave the ECHR", you'd have to be wilfully obtuse not to join the dots.

He crashed the economy to make his donors £millions. 9 years later, we're still paying for it.
November 27, 2025 at 6:49 AM
It's surely incompatible with the Equalities Act. Someone old may not look like a stereotypical female but age is protected. Someone queer may not look like a stereotypical female but sexuality is protected. Someone trans may not look like a stereotypical female but gender reassignment is protected.
November 21, 2025 at 3:58 PM
For a start, it's very clearly a breach of the Equality Act.

Sex, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability and race are all covered. If I don't look like your stereotypical women because of one of these things, it's legally none of anyone's damn business.

Just because he's got a racist village idiot on his payroll, he thinks he knows it all!
November 2, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Oh, he knows what he's doing. He's a conniving charlatan who's made a nice life for himself by preying on the public's ignorance.

If he sounds dumb it's because he's got no shame... and that's because he's always been rewarded for wilfully spreading his BS around.

This whopper got him a peerage:

Daniel Hannan - one of the people directly responsible for the damage to the UK's immigration system as a result of Brexit - talking about people "not arguing in good faith".

Just wow!

Sadly you do.

All those charlatans who wrecked the UK for their own selfish ends are now earning top dollar writing about just how wrecked the UK has become.

They should be in prison but that's not how the world works. This chancer got a seat in the house of Lords for helping to crash the economy.

The referendum was illegally won and should have been annulled. Our politicians knew this but continued regardless, using the loophole that it was "non-binding" - despite treating the result as totally binding.

It was a bait and switch. Surely that's Misconduct in Public Office.
November 2, 2025 at 9:44 AM
Thanks. The good news is, that seems to be happening. 💚😊
November 2, 2025 at 3:39 AM
He did the same to me. He didn't like being reminded that he had very publicly lied on behalf of Vote Leave, enabling them to pull off the bait and switch that wrecked the UK.
November 1, 2025 at 6:38 PM
It was wilful ignorance, David.

From the ERG to Theresa May, the Minister for Brexit to Boris Johnson: they deliberately ignored the facts because they were inconvenient. They were clueless simply because they didn't want to know. For me, that's Misconduct in Public Office. It's wilful negligence.

Time to bring those who knowingly and wilfully harmed the UK to justice. We need trials for Misconduct in Public Office. I'd start with Theresa May: she knew what she was doing was wrong and would have disastrous consequences for Britain. By ignoring the illegality of the referendum she's culpable.

Her own QC admitted the referendum result was illegal. Theresa May launched Article 50 knowing full well that this was the case.

She treated the referendum as binding but used the technicality that it was non-binding to get around the illegality of it.

She is culpable for the Brexit scam.

Google's AI having a normal one, this morning. 🙄

64 + 365 + 277 = 706.

If she thinks it's just her language that's the the problem, there's no hope for her. Yet another Reform racist.

It's time government thought about outlawing Reform. Put together a dossier of all the racism, incitement, disinformation and dodgy dealings and there's plenty of evidence against them.
