I got mine at the same time as the Covid and flu vax. I'm sure I was uncomfortable for a day or so, but it must not have been bad enough to make an impression. Whatever discomfort there is cannot compare to actually having Shingles manifest itself.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

Hey Chicago City Council. You up?
On Friday, City Council voted to undo Mayor Frey’s cuts to our sidewalk plowing pilots because the return of winter shouldn’t mean risking slips and falls on icy sidewalks every time it snows. Safely getting around our city should be a basic function of our government.

We are officially less than two years away from the events of CHILDREN OF MEN

Matters seem to be right on schedule

I kind of want to rewatch this now to notice all of this. I saw it when it was originally released.
I am once again reminding everyone that Clive Owen’s character in CHILDREN OF MEN is in his mid-forties in the late 2020s, which means it’s canonically a movie about a Millennial

I keep saying we all need to be sand in their gears

10:00am ICE chased a guy to an apartment building. Crowd gathered. Rapid response arrived. By 3:30pm 30 agents there, & used chem munitions & gassed the n’hood*

5 hours
Eventually 30 agents
1 guy

Neighbors & rapid response were sand in the gears
Happening right now. Community members in Elgin, IL are in a standoff with Feds who are trying to abduct their neighbor.

ERO guy in picture on left just peppered sprayed person I screencapped.

Chicagoans are paying about $40 apiece just for lawsuits tied to disgraced former cop Reynaldo Guevara Jr.

So far this year, the city is on the hook for some $285M in police misconduct settlements—roughly $100 per resident
really good comparison here. can someone calculate what Chicago residents are paying for CPD settlements?
Kansas City residents are paying out the equivalent of $50 each for Kansas City Police settlements just for comparisons.

Chicagoans will pay $76 per person this year for police misconduct settlements.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Now I'm sitting here mumbling intersections to myself.
Not the same thing, but wondering about order of identification of intersections. At least on the north side, seems like we always name E/W, then N/S. You'd never say "Western & Devon." Is this true citywide? Is it even actually true on the north side? Any thoughts about why if it is true?
