Last night, I was thinking how my life has been incredibly enriched due to my being queer, trans, nonbinary, and Japanese.

There were many tough times in my youth (like cutting ties with my whole family because they were transphobic) but I'm glad I persevered. I'm living my best life now! 😊✨

The book I clearly remember having was the guide book for 「ポケットモンスター　ピカチュウ」 ("Pocket Monsters Pikachu" aka "Pokémon Yellow Version" in English) because I was getting stuck playing it as an eight year old.

The other day, I went to a tea salon with my friend and had some sophisticated tea. I looked nice in the golden lighting of the salon. ✨

Then I walked around downtown to get some stuff I needed, then went to have the fancy, limited-time Shine Muscat bingsu. It was great!!! Very refreshing.

When the other seemingly trans person stopped me on the street, I was wearing my mask so the part of the makeup they saw was just above the mask (i.e. the eyes & above).

I went out today & a complete stranger who was seemingly trans femme stopped me in the middle of the road to tell me that my makeup was "giving drag queen" & that they loved it! I told them that they looked great too! ✨

It's been over 2 years since I had my first gender-affirming facial surgery and over 7 months since the second facial surgery. Do I regret having them? No!

And I have zero regrets living as my authentic, trans/nonbinary self!!! 😎

The Yokai Daizukan I had as a child was the 妖怪大図鑑 (講談社まんが百科 8) hard-covered version published in 1994. I remeber it very well because I used to read it a lot while I was in kindergarten (to early elementary school). It's no longer in print and only available in second-hand book stores.

One of the many things I like about living in Bangkok is that I can go to Kinokuniya whenever & buy JP books for reasonable prices.

I saw this full-color yokai picture book by Mizuki Shigeru today. It made me feel nostalgic b/c I had a different 妖怪大図鑑 by him when I was a child, so I bought it. 😎

Six years ago today, I escaped from an abusive/toxic environment in Japan with only two backpacks!

Yes, there was a Pride Parade on June 1st already and we are having a SECOND, LONGER ONE (approximately 4km/2.5 miles) this weekend! It will be the longest Pride Parade in Asia!!! 😎

Rainbow capitalism is what it is, but it's nice to be able to go to a shop doing Pride-Month discount and say, "I'm queer and I qualify for this discount," then getting 30% off on my extra-large gelato. 🍨

This is an excerpt of an article titled, "ChatGPT May Be Eroding Critical Thinking Skills, According to a New MIT Study" by Andrew R. Chow. The study divided 54 subjects—18 to 39 year-olds from the Boston area—into three groups, and asked them to write several SAT essays using OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s search engine, and nothing at all, respectively. Researchers used an EEG to record the writers’ brain activity across 32 regions, and found that of the three groups, ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels.” Over the course of several months, ChatGPT users got lazier with each subsequent essay, often resorting to copy-and-paste by the end of the study. The paper suggests that the usage of LLMs could actually harm learning, especially for younger users. The paper has not yet been peer reviewed, and its sample size is relatively small. But its paper’s main author Nataliya Kosmyna felt it was important to release the findings to elevate concerns that as society increasingly relies upon LLMs for immediate convenience, long-term brain development may be sacrificed in the process. “What really motivated me to put it out now before waiting for a full peer review is that I am afraid in 6-8 months, there will be some policymaker who decides, ‘let’s do GPT kindergarten.’ I think that would be absolutely bad and detrimental,” she says. “Developing brains are at the highest risk.”
