Why do you think most people aren't paying that? Shown is the LEAST amount my husband and I will pay on ACA. We don't have the option of an employer plan. We will opt for an *even higher* monthly cost plan because we WILL exceed that shown deductible - and we're relatively healthy!

Our 2026 monthly bill for the 2-person Covered California plan that is likely to cost us the least overall (because we do actually need & use it, despite being relatively healthy) will be more than our monthly rent. But hey, we qualify for a discount. 🫤

Also, it's not mentioned here but covered in earlier articles: Larry Burkart is a former cop that ended up working for DOC, which may have been like the opposite of a promotion. He might have been a target for a while? There's more story here, in any case. (theintercept.com/2025/10/23/c...)

It says it was delivered, and presumably Poshmark has proof via Uber, but the app still shows me that it's pending acknowledgement from the seller. It's looked like this since August.

Gotta admit, this made me look up who owns Wired. I had missed or forgotten the timeline of the WashPo's abandonment of the phrase... and thought maybe they were now related. No. Whew.

Even the games are checking in on us these days. 😂

Do it while it's easy, and be clear:

We have a phrase for this: respectability politics.

It failed.

When the suffragists wore fancy dress, when Civil Rights activists wore suits... the response has been to vilify people in short skirts and hoodies.

Fuck that.

Look! I made more things out of clay & I'm delighted by them!

Maybe they're objectively crap, I dunno, but to me they're like these wild experiments that - because I know almost nothing and have almost no experience - seemed to have an equal chance of disappointing me, and they do not! Yay!

It was more of an ongoing collaboration - Germans and Americans met and worked on eugenic concepts together under Davenport as the Eugenics Records Office (ERO) in Cold Spring Harbor. Both were very much funded by Americans, though, there is that. www.cshl.edu/archives/exp...

Actual ad that just showed up in my feed: thanks to AI you never actually have to watch the birds again!

Wait, what?
