Blaming renewables is the perfect cover.

The real culprits are:
-selling-off the most profitable bits of the network, but keeping the costly ones
-deregulating and creating an energy market
-creating an unnecessary "retail" sector of middlemen whose sole purpose is to skim profits for themselves.

Dear ABC radio, please have somebody with more expertise than me explain to you why “renewables are the cheapest form of power” and “power prices have gone up in the last years in spite of increased renewables” are not contradictory statements. And why slowing renewables will not bring prices down.

Honestly, the LNP are largely irrelevant. More importantly, @australianlabor.bsky.social also has no intention of _genuinely_ reaching net zero by 2050 either, if you _look closely_ at their policies and performance.

BREAKING:

The drunken US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, announces a military operation.

This could mean an invasion of Venezuela.

Australia should:
• End Five Eyes intelligence sharing
• Demand guarantees that Pine Gap won't be used for this purpose.

Be nice if you held Labor to account for bagging net zero in actions by approving in 2 years 38 new fossil fuel projects and tripling Australia's emissions with no stoppage in sight. There are 80 more submissions for fossil fuels and I think they will approve them all.

That story still doesn’t hold water for me. Police watched a bunch of Nazis leave a protest, but didn’t send one officer to follow them and ensure they weren’t going to start something else? Either absolute incompetence or an inside job.

How did Australian universities go from free education to $50,000 arts degrees in 50 years?
Thanks to the Job Ready Graduates scheme, an arts degree today will cost over $50,000. How have five decades of government policy taken us from free education to this?

No surprises this backward collection of red-necks drags their council to court on their ratepayers' money to oppose a wind farm - and even then can't get their legal arguments right
Tamworth Council went to court to try and stop a wind farm. It didn’t go well. Tamworth Council argued that the wind turbines would be too big for local roads. The judge pointed out there is no approval needed to drive on a public road reneweconomy.com.au/youve-got-to...

But when it comes to Neo-Nazis, not a peep.

Environment: Current proposal worse and more secretive than John Howard.
Housing: Use accounting tricks to increase profits for property investors.
