The thing about being a kind woman is that others (men) equate it with harmlessness. And well, that’s not the same thing.

I used to think I was a person that enjoyed deep complexities: the symbolism in literature; how math affects the world around me; evolution’s push and pull in the general world.

But I went with our classroom to Dollar Tree, and I was in hog heaven all fucking day.

Even with the massive chaos in the US, I want you to know that I love my job working with kids with emotional disabilities. This week, one of the kids asked me who my friends are. I said, “I’m new. I don’t have friends yet.” He said to me, “Can it be me?”

I’m sinking into these small joys.
