Geboortedag Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002), schepper van o.a. Pippi Langkous en Karlsson. Net als Annie M.G. Schmidt bevrijdde ze de kinderliteratuur van de zware moraal; kinderen mochten gewoon lekker stout zijn. Dat leverde uiteraard heerlijke boeken op.

Johan Goevaerts (44) uit Schelle is de toegang geweigerd tot een supermarkt in Leuven omdat hij een assistentiehond bij zich had. Johan zit in een rolstoel en heeft veel aan zijn assistentiehond Pluto. De hond draagt een vestje, Johan heeft een geldig bewijs, maar toch kreeg hij al vaker te maken met zulke situaties. Maar afin, ik zit op de trein en heb mij net blauw betaald aan een ticket, ik zou ook de auto nemen als ik kon, dan zat ik niet ik de parfumgeur van Janine achter mij mijn yoghurt op te eten terwijl ik zit te rekenen of ik nog eten kan betalen vandaag. Keuzes hé @sncb-nmbs.bsky.social keuzes.
De auto blijft veruit de meest gebruikte verplaatsingswijze van de Belgen. Het gebruik van de fiets, en meer bepaald de elektrische variant, blijft wel gestaag stijgen, vooral in Vlaanderen.

The focus on free, independent media, fact-checking, literacy, election integrity etc make sense.
But: it needs to be acknowledged that many of these challenges are not from outside the EU only. Also from within.
