I assume Lord Apollo had been wanting to replace her for awhile but she was stubbornly refusing to succumb to madness or sickness so he had to intervene a bit

Oh, a good situation, if given the option of Tera Lucario or Mega, are you bringing the one that can gain extra STAB off Tera or are you bringing the one with a stat boost and adaptability that basically gives the Tera boost as well? You're obviously picking the mega unless going for a niche team

The issue is though Mega is inherently better in 90% of situations but also inherently restrictive in availability, its easily the least thought out of all the gimmicks and shouldn't really make a comeback without a serious overhaul akin to Max

Honestly though, they should have abandoned it entirely and worked on refining something like Z-Moves, Terra, or Max more. Mega is way too restrictive being only available for whatever they pull out of a hat and Charizard.
