March 2nd in 2013, on a frozen Baltic Sea. Quite a difference compared to what we are experiencing today: no snow, no ice cover and +5 degrees.

Speaking at @businessatoecd.org meeting with @oecd-ocde.bsky.social in Paris.

As a long term crusador of free, fair and rules-based trade, seeing the increase of protectionism is hard. Businesses will adapt, but the longer term impacts for global trade and multilateral cooperation will be tough.

”we don’t really care”.
What the last two weeks has made super clear:

It's not just Facebook v. the Digital Services Act (always was); and its not Marjorie Taylor Greene v. the DSA (she doesn't care!)

It's the USA v. the EU

An ode to #risotto. My love affair with it started thirty years ago.
“Off-white, unobtrusive, and modestly freckled with parsley, it was as plain to the eye as it was revolutionary to the palate. Never had I tasted such a thing.” Anthony Lane traces his 40-year love affair with risotto.
The Secret History of Risotto
The dish is governed by a set of laws that are rooted in tradition, rich in common sense, and aching to be broken or bent.

”The EU has a chance to cease being a geopolitical teenager and progressively assert itself on the world stage alongside America and China,” said the former Commission President Barroso according to @politico.eu - very true. This teenager just needs to be a bit bolder now! 🇪🇺
