I just finished The Shining by Stephen King, so being a big fan of the movie, I had no idea that it veered so remarkably from the book! If you have not read it, and are a fan of the film - you simply must give it a read. Gripping! #BookSky

My find of the week is this beautiful almost 100 year old copy (1930) of A Christmas Carol illustrated by Gilbert Wilkinson and published by Odhams Press! A little staining on the pages but otherwise in great condition. What a find for £1! Another little treasure to protect. #BookSky

Undoubtedly the best movie I’ve seen yet this year. Nicholas Cage and Alex Wolff - their on screen dynamic was so authentic and engaging. Hair, wardrobe and makeup team did a fantastic job. Michael Sarnoski directed on a low budget too. Brilliant. 🍿 #MovieSky

Finally caught up and finished Vampyrrhic by Simon Clark. Good book, some parts very well written, first half was quite descriptive and drawn out. Some repetition and cheesy lines, but it had a great new twist on a vampire tale with references to Nordic gods so for that it’s worth a read! #Booksky

I just rescued the most beautiful creature, an Emperor Dragonfly who was sat on the footpath in Notting Hill about to be crushed. I trespassed someone’s garden (sorry!) and let him loose in a wooded area with flowers to recover. I hope it will survive there?! #Insects #Dragonfly #Entomology

Went to my first car boot today and found this beautiful almost 100 year old AA Milne book for 50p! The pages are immaculate and illustrations bright but the binding is disintegrating. Anyone on #BookSky know what I should do to protect this beauty?

Just watched Oedipus at @oldvictheatre.bsky.social and it was something so special. Rami Malek and Indira Varna were incredible (as were all the cast). But the dancers, the choreography, the set design and lighting!!! incredible. Rarely lost for words but I left silently taking it all in!
