Finally a layer of garlic herb mashed potatoes. I used skin on red potatoes because that sounded good in my head.

First layer is the rice layer. Instead of plain rice like my mom used to use, I cooked the rice in beef stock to get a little more flavor involved.

I made a casserole today loosely based on one that my mom used to make a lot when I was a kid that I was craving, and it turned out really well. More details to follow.

It tastes REALLY good. Like a sourdough, with a distinct pickle flavor that comes through near the end. Not overly strong but extremely identifiable.
Pickle sourdough with no need for a starter. Probably can fix the rise with some tweaks.
Hugely successful experiment!
