Regarding WORLDLINE-R, there are conversations happening right now on the discord because everyone wants to fix it (first time user experience usually is: >puts utau vb >plays >crashes), but to quote oxygendioxyde (attached screenshot), no one knows how to!
OpenUtau has many long-existing bugs, or user experience flaws, which were found a long time ago, but haven't get fixed. That's because OpenUtau is developed and maintained by enthusiasts for free. There are not enough developers, or they do not have enough time. And sometimes there is no developer that has the knowledge to fix them (for example, C++ that worldline-r uses)
