Reform is not a political party, it is a pseudo-religious cult. This letter was in today's Metro, and apparently without any intended irony. It is terrifying that these people live amongst us.

They're eating the dogs: Trump
They're eating the swans: Farage

"They're eating the Swans ... they're eating the geese ... they're eating the birds ... of the people that live there"

OK he didn't mention geese, but otherwise it's a close copy of Trump's statement from the presidential debate.
Farage is literally turning into a British Trump.

#wildflowerhour Fragrant Orchid in the Burren. Pretty sure this is the Marsh Fragrant G. densiflora, but that the Chalk Fragrant also occurs, flowering slightly earlier. Has anyone confirmed this? #Orchids

Can I sneak in an Irish plant for #WildflowerHour? The extreme rarity Cottonweed, Achillea (=Otanthus) maritima, from its only British Isles site in dunes in SE Ireland. Incredible silver colour, looks more like a desert plant! One more species to add to namethatplant.org.

Mystery Silene in Edinburgh, v probably from seed mix (Adonis annua, Bupleurum subovatum also present). Glandular hairy, sticky, low growing and note inflated calyx. Any ideas? @bsbibotany.bsky.social @roblarge.bsky.social @jo-the-botanist.bsky.social

One of Britain's rarest plants, with only two mainland sites - sand crocus, Romulea columnae. Flowers only open for a few hours in the afternoon, and then only if it's sunny!

One more extreme rarity added to my image library - Romulea columnae. Only two UK mainland sites, only opens its flowers when the sun's out, and then only for a few hours each day! The quest for 100% native species coverage progresses ...
