A few months back one of my manuscripts got a review that was pretty fishy! It took some team discussion but ultimately we decided to make a couple of the suggested changes that were actually valid, and write a private note to the editor with our suspicion. It’s only going to happen more often now.

I hope you can make it to Japan one day, one of my fondest memories is going to a gyoza joint. That’s all they do. They don’t even have different kinds of gyoza. You know what you’re getting and that is as many perfect gyoza as you can gob in one sitting.

I looked up the statistics, black kids in the US have slower cognitive development (and never catch up), which the study of course attributed to social factors without any evidence, and they had faster motor development! I suspect this means their brains are slower at learning high-level concepts, because the low-level structures are optimized for a shorter time.
