Giant green left conspiracy member according to Paul Fletcher. Easily duped. Sorry. #auspol #dogs #banalities #trivia #obsessions #indulgences #BradfieldVotes Not nec in that order
#BradfieldVotes And Bradfield voted.

Nicolette Boele MP for Bradfield.
Congratulations
Australia and Bradfield will be better for it.

It's been a challenging few weeks since the election, and nothing, absolutely nothing, should be read into this.
And yet... solace at this point... let's see what next week brings....

Struggled?
Has that been redefined and I missed it?

There's hard hitting political commentary.
There's pointed political barbs.
There's going thru the motions.
Then there's whatever this is.

At some point #auspol journos & their headline writers might stop doing both side bs.
But not today.
Reporting numbers (gasp!) & Angus Taylor in same sentence with credulity does noone a service.

Is he too confident in his own instincts?

Yes.

Next question. #auspol

Really?
Didn't Mr Fletcher say on Monday night that drawing conclusions from speaking with a few people was just "social proofing", and sophisticated manipulation orchestrated by a conspiracy? #auspol
Good to see he's finally gifting locals with his presence tho.
Kudos. #BradfieldVotes

SMH Letters to Ed today.
There's more gold if you have a subscription.
Honestly, I would like to thank the political genius who decided that calling voters you want to win back "dupes" & accusing them of being misled by a genuinely asinine conspiracy theory was a good idea. #auspol

Spare us hagiography.
"Moderate"?
Emissions, energy policy, NACC, Robodebt.
All waved through.
He worries about populism?
Look in the mirror. #auspol

Hilarious.
I'm not a fan of the government's bill or approach, but to have an anonymous Newscorp writer bemoan a "mendacity factor", without irony, as the basis for concern is just beyond parody. #auspol

Thing is though: not the most controversial
AUKUS is less publicly debated than stage 3 tax cuts, ndis, robodebt... lotsa issues rightly attract attention due investment required
#PartyProtectionBill & AUKUS get silent bipartisan support
Waved through
Nuthin to see here #auspol
Move along

Why this bloke is foghorned by #auspol journos escapes me.
But let's deal with the risk allegation.
Every investment has risk.
It has loss risk and gain risk.
That an investment risks a loss is not a thing.
Can we have better media please?

Manager Opp Bizz on the other place.
#BradfieldVotes btw.
A few things:
Who was in govt for most of last 20 years?
Who was responsible for NBN?
Who declared carporks cabinet-in-confidence to (one can suppose) avoid accountability & transparency?

Anybody who believes the two parties are part of the problem in Australian democracy should be furious. A cynical, self-protecting act of aggrandisement. Would that we had an ACCC equivalent in #auspol to call this rigging to account.
November 19, 2024 at 1:29 AM
It's annual fridge magnet season. Not remarkable, 'cept to remark on the lack of liberal branding on pieces generously provided by Mr Fletcher. The Manager Opp Biz doesn't want to be seen as a Liberal. Funny that. #BradfieldVotes #BetterIsPossible #auspol

Dipping toe back in after recent bonfires. Profile says dogs, so here's current pack. 8 year old dane and nearly 5 year old boxer. Well, she says she's a boxer.
November 17, 2024 at 9:49 AM
We have political demographers? What is that, other than a description on a media release promoting same? Let alone a leading one. A bloke with an opinion journos call for a quote?
Spare us the hot takes. USA doesn't even know what happened. Some expert in Oz has already drawn conclusions. #auspol

Liberal Party colleagues is a very limited pool of talent, largely self-selected. Not sure I'd trust the strategist assessment & esp not the economic management one. I mean, do we not have lived experience of LNP stewardship? Are we goldfish? #auspol
November 16, 2024 at 10:03 AM
Call me old fashioned, but I woulda thought defence policy would be driven by national security, not friction with powerful bullies...unless Hastie is saying that's the same thing. A case could be made.
Also, why does Sky put Albo's face on this? #auspol

Do we not all remember who was in government for over a decade?
Do we think the housing crisis magically appeared just when the ALP got the gig?
There's lotsa political responsibility to go around if we want to play blame game.
Oppositions gotta oppose but spare us the sanctimony.

I like The Economist.
I don't always (usually/often) agree with its take, but I respect the cases it makes.
Not on this occasion tho.
Disagree, esp coz I don't think this is an intellectually honest take.

Corrections should be recognised and applauded. Slow 👏
But fundamental apprehension abt the ALP's criteria - or Albo's or whoever the hell makes decisions - remains. Is the ACL and religious conservatism that powerful? We are not the USA. Loud ≠ right (in the moral sense. Political, maybe) #auspol

I dont follow NT politics. I have enough trouble grappling with the kremlinology of NSW and Fed politix. I'm guessing this is bad for ALP federally? A Voice backlash? Genuinely smart campaigning by the CLP (hard to believe given southern counterparts but ya never know)? What local issues? #auspol
