Retired. Enjoy nature and photography. College football and the OKC Thunder. The problem is I can’t stop thinking about politics.
I shouldn’t have to go outside to get warm….in NOVEMBER.

On our way to the OKC Thunder game and we stopped by the brand new Katz Drugstore Sit-In statue. We just happened to be there when Miss Betty Germany was posing with her 17 year old self. It was really kind of an honor to see her and listen to her story.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Trump is at least smart enough to know foreign wars are unpopular. But a war on America itself makes his base giddy. The circle of life. We’re gonna get American taxpayers to fund American defense contractors to supply American troops to shoot at American taxpayers.

As Republicans try to shift the focus from guns to antidepressants, remember: There’s a difference between bad arguments and unserious arguments.

Republicans aren’t just wrong, they’re not even trying to be right. The goal is to survive a news cycle, not win a policy debate.
Following school shooting, Republicans shift attention to antidepressants (but not guns)
As GOP officials connect mass shootings and antidepressants, remember: It’s not just that they’re wrong, it’s that they’re not even trying to be right.

Underfunding public education may attract predators to school districts. Ryan Walters’ policies need scrutiny by sex abuse experts. Predators will work for near nothing to be around their prey. Starve public education - you’ve created the breeding ground for predators in schools.

Visiting the lake today. Haven’t seen a Mimosa tree in ages. A very common sight 50 years ago.

It just goes to show you that great family wealth, being from a storied political dynasty, and having an expensive education mean absolutely nothing when you’re just a perverse piece of shit.

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

It was 39 years ago that Sharon and I were wed. Somehow it seems like last month. Someways it feels like forever (and I mean that in the best possible way).

Wife and I took a road trip for a couple of days. Had no internet or tv. It was windy and turned cold. This didn’t stop us from seeing some beautiful sights. I love the juxtaposition of dead winter trees with the rebirth of spring starting to show itself.
