I actually picked this up a couple years ago. Maybe for $1. Scratched up. Still, I love it.

I am enjoying the extras that came with the purchase. Actually, more than I did the actual movie. It is giving me an appreciation of the care put into making it. I’ll give the movie a second chance sometime with the stick in my ass removed.

This is my first response to a second post on BlueSky. The world seems a little better.

The movie is fine. It is exciting if I ignore the implausible plot points. I recommend it to anyone unfamiliar with the origins of SNL or with the practical nature of putting on a live show.

I've been following you for years, Seth. You are my journalistic hero. Now I'm digging your music!

And these are just two examples. There are countless more—and I’m only a third of the way through it. I guess I should finish it before I judge it so harshly.

For instance, why would the head of NBC be scouting Chevy Chase as the new Tonight Show host, and why would Garrett Morris be fretting about being underutilized before the first show has even aired?

The story takes place during the hour leading up to the very first live broadcast. Sure, that sounds like a fun premise. The problem is that the discussions and actions happening in that crucial hour should have (and, in reality, did) take place six months earlier—or even a year later.
