Ye gods. Thank goodness for services trade given the decline in UK's goods exports.
We were told #Brexit was going to be fantastic for trade, but since Non-EU exports (as well as EU exports) exhibit a negative trend, RoW is not exactly coming to the aid of UK's trade balance. 🙄 …1/

On Remembrance Day: A story that has never been a secret, but has been rather forgotten - the Chinese on the Western Front. Although not combatants, about 3,000 died clearing munitions or in the Spanish flu at the end of the war. #GreatWar #WW1 #RemembranceDay

From an article in today's Financial Times. Such an obvious statement of fact. It's hard to understand why direct public investment in social rent housing - so successful for decades - is now unthinkable.

'Emotional support raven'😀(other sinister birds are available)

All I want is a humble castle on the Irish coast, a crackling fire, a vintage mystery novel, an emotional support raven, a raging thunderstorm, a few purring cats, endless cups of tea, and a scandalous amount of freshly-baked pastries.

Today, the Chancellor named Brexit as one of the main reasons for expected tax rises and lower productivity.

Wasn't Brexit supposed to put £350 million a week into the economy? 🤔 One of just many lies it seems...

My house is a bad fit for a heat pump so to my disgust I had to replace my gas boiler with another one. In future, though, this might be the solution. It could also work well with solar panels. Interesting film from @luthmore.bsky.social and @everythingelectric.bsky.social #climate #cleantech
