Just discovered the Evolution of Horror podcast by @mikemuncer.bsky.social and it’s brilliant. He’s genial company, an excellent interviewer and has provided a wonderful lens through which to view my favourite movie genre. Can’t recommend enough.

Feels depressingly apt to reshare this
It’s becoming increasingly, scarily acceptable to be openly racist in UK politics with zero consequences. It’s also seemingly increasingly taboo to call someone out for being racist, but lets all keep calling this out:
complaining about the “lack of white faces” in a city is really fucking racist.

Apparently, this was "nothing to do with skin colour". Robert Jenrick just likes "mixed communities". Which is why he has also criticised very white neighbourhoods or towns and villages up and down the UK, umm... <checks notes> never.
Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA
