The Roman' Philosopher and Naturalist, Seneca, wrote, 'apes debemus imitari' viz. 'we must imitate the Bees': referring specifically to Honey Bees. He doesn't seem to explain why: other than note that Bees wander and collect the material for honey &c. [Commentary: Letter LXXXIV]
