Working in academic integrity in the University of Galway. Movie buff, quizzer, getting too old for Xbox. Still mad about Liverpool FC & the Beatles.
My heart just isn’t able for this season. Ludicrous defending and an unbelievable 99th min winner from a 16-year-old. Have some serious improving to do. #YNWA

Been a huge fan of Chiesa since his great season in 20/21. Delighted when he came to #LFC and been gutted by his experience so far (and rumours of impending transfer). Bloody delighted for him tonight. #YNWA

Arne Slot has no truck with #fantasyfootball managers. 2 clean sheets bonuses denied by about 15-20 seconds 😂 #fpl

Loved #Superman tonight. Great approach to the character and his over-familiar backstory, perfect tone and casting, and Krypto… 🥰 Smiled and teared up in equal measure. Hope future DC Studios movies keep nailing it.

Pleasantly surprised by how good Agassi is on co-comms at #Wimbledon. Treats the viewer as a grown-up, imparts a lot of wisdom and experience. Learning a lot this afternoon while enjoying Alcaraz/Fritz.

What a glorious time of year for live tv. Glastonbury this weekend, Wimbledon starting on Monday and the Open only a few weeks away.

Plus you can’t spell Arsenal without that arse of a manager. Delusional comments this week were the cherry on top: not a serious person.
I think Arsenal have generally been good, but it's basically the season in microcosm. Some clever approaches and ideas. Missing that forward, missing key players, still missing that something.

Still not over but it really feels they have to do too much with too little.

Couldn’t have predicted this at the start of the season. Glorious! Great work Slot with Klopp’s legacy. Thank you Jurgen! #LFC

Hook it to my veins 😍
Liverpool win a 20th English top-flight league title, taking them equal with Manchester United by that measurement, and extending their lead over MUFC in all-time major trophies.

Live sport is truly the greatest thing but once, just once, I’d like to have watched Rory in a calm procession to a major. #Masters

Goals are lovely, obviously, but it’s particularly reassuring to see Pool’s defence Slot back into gear.

It’s always seemed like a matter of time until Szobo started scoring. Whether it’s confidence or the position he’s been told to play, but he’s well capable of 10-15 goals a season.
🚨 DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI!!! TWO FOR LIVERPOOL! Mohamed Salah is picked out brilliantly by Trent Alexander-Arnold who lays off for the midfielder to clinically finish past Ederson!

Made the B final of the club pickleball tournament today. Think the last time I’d done anything similar was 30-odd years ago with the Tech’s hurling team (winning despite having me on the panel) and a table tennis comp. Wrecked but delighted.

A random John Barry track pops up on my Spotify to remind me that ‘The Living Daylights’ was his greatest soundtrack (not to mention the very best Bond movie).

The Rams/Eagles snow game is great fun for the casual viewer. You don’t see this kind of madness in the Prem.

Genuinely think that the pundits who laud Ange-ball are borderline deranged.

Unbelievable combo 😂 One for the armchair managers - like meself! - who wondered as to the wisdom of those two subs! Now, let’s see if the game opens up a bit. #LFC

Spot on. Feels like Liverpool have been conceding these soft goals ever since Endrick did a number on Konate. At the other end, it’s reminiscent of a few seasons back: it takes a toll on a team have to come from behind so often.
Had a bad feeling about this game for Liverpool and nothing I've seen in that first half has eased my concerns. They've been firing in so many low-quality shots and then conceded from one of the three they've given up - this is exactly how Forest wanted this to go.

Hadn’t planned to spend the day watching back-to-back Poirots, but that’s the power of Peter Ustinov + Twixtmas for you.

All the feels, as young folk probably don’t even say anymore. Looking forward to more wonder and all-too-rare optimism.
… and the countdown begins. The #Superman teaser trailer launches TOMORROW!

More than a couple of sniggers in the cinema earlier at the repeated ‘grands’. Really quite funny in Hiberno-English. m.youtube.com/watch?v=9yrT...

Well now, that was outstanding from Liverpool. A bit ahead of schedule and expectations but a serious team this season. And delightful to put Madrid back in their box (at least until they poach Trent). #LFC #YNWA

25 years since the night I met @mikecoyne.bsky.social. We’ve done a lot of living since. All made infinitely easier by having a gem of a partner to walk/run/crawl/dance through life with.
