Just had a lovely meeting with some of the Pedagodzilla book authors. Really reassuring to know that no matter where you are in the country, if you're working in higher ed you're bloody knackered right now

My special episode for #worldbookday! Good fun to run, edit and listen back to - with grisly rhyming and not so much dark undertones as a dark basecoat, detailing and lacquer.
New episode alert! 🚨

For World Book Day, we've released the first episode of our Nursery Crimes series a little earlier.

This first episode - Humpty Dumpty splat off the wall - has Mairi and Dom try to piece together Mike's murder mystery. What happened to Humpty?

New episode of @infiniteescaperoom.bsky.social is out! This one was an absolute pleasure to co-host, as cognitive load in escape rooms is a really interesting topic. Escape rooms can borrow (and perhaps should) borrow a lot from puzzley video games with this.
New episode! 📣

This week, Mike, Jamie, Mairi and Emma do a deep dive into a particular part of escape room and game design:

How do you account for players' cognitive load when designing puzzles?

Featuring more Jermaines than Mike had ever bargained for!

This evening we fixed our cooker. It's the third time I've had the guts out of it in 9 years and we're still very chuffed to keep the thing kicking. It was second hand when we bought it, so the thing owes nothing to anyone.

I'm noticing a direct correlation in how incoherent and dickish I am with how much sleep and coffee I've had. Interesting.

Crikey the stuff that's come out about how Meta nakedly pirated stuff to train their AI is mad. Smoking gun, person holding gun, person saying 'it was me I did it' next to the body of copyright. Even with this I'm not confident UK or US courts are going to do owt about it...

I vibe with this. I do some of my best stuff out of spite.
Spite's a great motivator.

I wrote twelve books that way.

If you're feeling pissed off at the fuckery afoot? Spite, yo. It'll get you far.

New episode alert! It's sustainability meets Jurassic Park, but were we so preoccupied with whether or not we could, we didn't stop to think if we should?
