I don’t LIKE parking tickets, but I do like that meter-checking doesn’t need a high school diploma & (at least in my region) comes with a liveable wage & decent pension.

Also zoning nerd, with a side of socialism advocating for a single government-run parking app to block the infinite proliferation of “no, but THIS app is 1¢ cheaper & has a UI that matches MY needs better” territory wars & to support low-skill public service careers

Programming notes:
1. The #OreCup final match runs 48 hours, so you still have about 5 hours to campaign!
2. The victory post writeup will take a few days as I forgot I have no childcare on Remembrance Day. Whoops!

Pre-AOL/AIM, slightly after the rise of BBS. Pronounced “I seek you,” which is legit more adorable than anything since. The chime is up there with Nokia ringtone for auditory time travel.

I still have an immediate response to the ICQ chime.
But! For lurkers: A paid plan of Redact has actually worked really well for me in scrubbing. Not really cost effective unless you have a whole lot of channels to wipe or a reoccurring need, but it works even on high-volume accounts.

#OreCup has been a beast opportunity to write on the differences between a mineral & a commodity, the relationship between people & rocks, and the overlap of “oooh, shiny!” & “oooh, useful!”
I like our finalists. They’re very different in almost every way. I haven’t voted yet because I’m torn!

Honestly, I’m surprised the Superman angle isn’t picking up much love yet. It’s not often we get a gibberish crystal composition in a movie that we later find IN REAL LIFE.
