Hard agree. You could even include an electric cable that set off an alarm when cut in some locations and angle grinder-resistant composite would be an ideal filler!

+1 for a folding walking stick. Another option that needs no special bracket is to use some of that double-sided velcro with hooks on the front and loops on the back and wrap the stick to a frame tube.
