I like Schmitt but think he’s proven to be a mediocre middle infielder defensively and a below avg hitter so far. He’s got a little pop but not enough to tolerate all those K’s. He’ll only be 27 next year , but he’s likely not playing 3b in SF. What’s his ceiling ? Shea Hillenbrand?

He’s not exactly a burner 😂. I don’t see it. I think he’s added in a trade to a team that needs help at 3b. He’s redundant in our lineup- need some obp types and more contact and defensive range at 2b

Kim would be an upgrade. Schmitt is just not a fit. We need a better fielder with range next to Adames. And someone who strikes out less and steals bases.

Baer is always about filling seats. He didn’t allow Evans or Farhan to rebuild. It’s why this pretty mediocre era is reaching year 10. Hopefully buster has enough clout to pick his guy and end this cycle.

The real difference is Rodon and Snell likely would have brought a better haul than Rogers,Yaz,Doval. No snell deal was maybe his worst move

exactly. played the worst defensive configuration he could've started in the biggest game of the year. And Gage is obviously shaken up after hitting Muncy, yet Melvin keeps him in for the whole inning. Need a different leader next year.
