There are more disabled people who are pretending to be healthy so that you don’t judge us or think us incapable than there are healthy people pretending to be disabled. If you find yourself questioning whether someone is really disabled, you’re doing the work of the oppressor. #disability

It’s been six years since the first reported case of SARSCov2.

It’s never too late to wear a mask.

It’s never too late to clean the air.

Every infection avoided or delayed is a win for long term health.

We can drastically reduce transmission if everyone does their part.

A good reminder for myself and others with ADHD: when you are struggling with it, the first step is ALWAYS forgiving yourself.

So much of why we get trapped and find ourselves unable to act or change is that we get trapped in our shame and guilt spirals...

Try taking the COVID competency exam yourself, and share it around! Great way to bust myths (and the person who wrote it is an epidemiologist, and well-informed, so it really does).

If you want to resist, wear a mask

If you care about future generations, wear a mask

If you care about your long term health, wear a mask

Hearing of more jobs with “no remote, but you can work from either the SF or NYC office,” and, just, what are we talking about here? This isn’t about “remote” work, whatever we think that means; it’s about power. https://aworkinglibrary.com/writing/remote-to-who

I still wear a mask when I go out to public places. To me, the cost of wearing a mask is the cost of the mask, but the cost of not wearing the mask is potentially my health. It has not been my understanding that covid stopped, went away or evolved towards a diminished long-term impact, so I mask.

Good quote from the article
'All of this immunity stuff is very complex, but the response is relatively simple. Masking, paid sick leave, improved ventilation and keeping up to date on vaccines, including the COVID boosters, are all really effective at keeping multiple respiratory illnesses at bay'

Disabled people are not scamming the system.

We're not the reason for high taxes or economic hardship.

We're a scapegoat. A distraction so you don’t focus on the billionaires and corporations benefitting from huge tax cuts.

It’s exceedingly hard to qualify for disability benefits.

You weren’t “too sensitive”

You were overwhelmed by a world that wouldn’t adapt

You weren’t “lazy”

You were dysregulated, in a system that demands output over care

You weren’t “fine”

You were masking - because it was safer than being you.

You weren’t the problem.

The space wasn’t safe.

Executive function isn’t about skill or will.

It’s about the state of your nervous system.

If I’m dysregulated, no amount of lists or timers will help.

If I’m supported, I can do the thing.

It’s not consistency I lack - it’s safety.
