The path towards some kind of enlightenment within ourselves is a stepped one. It’s a long and progressive journey no matter how much we wish it to be faster and more immediate. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography Taken in #Adelaide #Australia

My last post was a month ago. I decided to do a digital detox - take a break from the news and all the rubbish that is on the internet. It’s important to take care of one’s #mentalhealth - our brains are our most precious organ. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography

Individuality should be celebrated. As I age, I find that I have learnt from my daughter and a couple of friends to be more progressive in thought and ideals. I think conservative ideology is too restrictive in many respects. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography

This is dedicated to all the aged carers and disability workers around the world. It is a vocation that requires a generous and open heart. I know that I would not be able to do it. This scene was a reminder to me that there are people who have what it takes and it says a lot about them.

I don’t quite comprehend a lot of the ultra-conservative Christian right wing movements. It makes me wonder if they know that the world is filled by so many different ethnicities and cultures.

Taken in #Adelaide #SouthAustralia - no thoughts today because sometimes it’s good just to keep the brain as blank as possible. #streetphotography #photography #blackandwhitephotography

I have thought for 2 months whether to share this image. I decided to do so because the person is not identifiable and no body parts are visible. I do not profit from such photos. But the subject-matter is close to my heart: inequality.

I feel so fortunate to call #Adelaide my home and #Australia my country. We are multicultural, diverse and inclusive. Our Central Market is located right in the heart of our city and we are spoilt for choice with fresh seasonal produce, and the best wine regions are in our state.

The simple joy that we partake in: sitting down and having a coffee with a friend. No amount of connections on social media can replace this. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography Taken in #Adelaide #SouthAustralia

The role of the man in western culture has changed a lot. We must never tar all men with a single brush because I feel that there are good men out there who were brought up well by their parent or parents. We were all children once.

I am an atheist but I believe in respecting what another person chooses to believe in. It is when people use religion to gain power or to fight that I think that there should be no religion at all. Everyone should have an ideology of peace.

There are those who are fortunate to have someone to go on a journey with them, support them and help carry some baggage. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography Taken in #Melbourne #Australia

Sometimes the light at the end of the path is bright. Some days it’s dimmed. Some days it feels like I am staring at a dead end. Only to find a corner that I can turn. We all have our journeys and the most important thing is to not assume that darkness leads to a dead end.

When I am struggling with my #mentalhealth and I feel I am not ‘seeing’, I try to look for things that are simple in their beauty. For me, such images lift the brain fog just a little bit.

I have had to keep away from the news for a couple of days. There has been so much noise. I decided to post this abstract photo I took recently that represents our global fight against #climatechange . When I was 19 in the late 80s, I was talking about CFCs and its impact on our climate.

A salute to all the people who work behind the scenes to keep things running. It’s been a current theme of mine of late. Without them, our society does not function. Often times, they are the migrants who do the jobs that many of us don’t wish to do.

Sometimes one hopes that a light can be shone on the good and positive. There is so much vitriol and hate around the world. These days freedom of speech comes at a price. So does fame.

I like to take photos of the people who work to provide us with services so that we can eat and enjoy life. Hats off and gratitude to them all. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography Taken in #Melbourne #Australia

I wish every human could go on with their daily lives in this kind of peace and safety. It should not be a privilege. It should be a right - a right that should not be taken away by authoritarianism nor ideology. Peace, to me, should be a universal ideology.

We all think we know love but the only love that is certain is between a parent and a child … even then, some humans manage to break that because they are sadly broken themselves. #streetphotography #thoughts #photography Taken in #Melbourne August 2025
