every so often I surprise myself with my own writing
all the worry in the world never saved me. but it also never saved anyone else. i held a strand of someone’s life once, like a ghost i ran it through my fingers. like a murderer i dropped it off at home. I met you from across the stars, and you begged me not to disturb your orbit. I, wild, crashed into your core and tried to burrow. I thought if I thought enough I could rotate around you. It’s a car crash every few days, a wreck of a puzzle missing half its pieces. I look at it, knowing its completeness and crying at the holes. It’s not even a pretty picture on the box.
