The Wallace sisters shop on Saint Augustine Street Cork the back room of this shop was practically the head quarters of the Volunteer's during the War of Independence. There is an excellent podcast called " The Little Shop of Secrets " which tells its history and a recording of Nora Wallace.

Jane (Jenny) Dowdall first female Lord Mayor of Cork 1959 to 1960. She was a Fianna Fail Senator from 1951 to 1961. She died December 1974.

The Coal Quay (Cornmarket Street) Cork in 1929 the building in the background is the Bazaar Market now the Cornstore Bar / Restaurant and another portion of it is the Loft furniture store. This market was opened in 1843 along with Saint Peter's Market further along the street now the Bodega.

MacCurtain Street Cork 1945 formerly King Street it was renamed after the murder of Tomas MacCurtain in April 1920 by the then Lord Mayor Terence MacSwiney under the Lord Mayor's items at the Cork Corporation meeting.

The Coal Quay (Cornmarket Street) in the early 1960's. A book published in the 1990's called "From an Anchor to a Needle " described this Street very well at one stage you buy almost anything there.
