Well, yesterday meant meeting my friends in South West Writers for a great lunch, buying new pair of shoes (I'd worn out the old ones), two new keyboards, and a pile of research material. Back to the 1st Crusade!

Thank God I got out while they did it. On returning, there was a lot of noise from a damn great diesel generator, as well as the racket from all the fire and smoke alarms going off in the house! Luckily I enjoyed a walk around Meldon first!

Meanwhile, the edit's going well, with 100 pages to go, and three key aspects to address. Hopefully to finish that this week, and then speed read Saturday/Sunday to make sure all is good.

Suddenly the heating pipes are covered over. In five days we've gone from a kitchen with a void under half the floor, to a new floor. Now to wait for it to dry.

The sad fact is, in the past all an author had to do was think up a new story per annum. Nowadays, there are rather a lot of other things to keep him/her busy. Thank God for dogs. If it wasn't for them, I'd be tied to the desk permanently!
