If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula.

Oddity, why is Google's AI summary adding a $ sign in front of temperatures...

My middle school friends gave me the Midvale School for the Gifted t-shirt when I got into the magnet high school.

Not sure I've seen a writer ever write a section like this.

I of course read the rest of the article and can confirm it's quite stupid.

At 355 lbs, Michael Pierce supposedly has the heaviest interception in NFL history.

He retired this off-season, but ended with an amazing play.

At Space Center Houston, I saw the little RC model they used to test if a 747 could transport the Space Shuttle.

It's so cute!

Here's our terrible cake the kids and I made for my wife, before the cream melted because we didn't wait for the cake to cool.

Delicious though!

Thanks for returning to our wonderful book festival. Hope to see you next book tour and hope Politics and Prose stocks more books next time. 😅

Obligatory.

Sure, why not? Here's a picture of Ruby.

Why celebrate one gluttonous holiday when you can celebrate two!

Happy Fastnacht Day / Mardi Gras!

Bolla bolla bolla!

Thank you for giving me an excuse for a sweet treat.

Not quite a cream bun, but close enough.

It's definitely Spring time (Spring of Deception notwithstanding). I heard the mourning doves in the morning and birds are starting to size up my eaves for a nest.

I should warn the birds that a large crow shows up every month to feast on the young in those eaves.

Happy to say that @matt-levine.bsky.social and I own the same shirt.

Day 21: Jade Empire.
Bioware + Asian mythology, what's not to love?! I loved the setting and the mid-game twist was amazing.
Asian mythology / fantasy seems much more common in books now, but in 2005 this felt ahead of its time. #365games

Day 20: Karaoke Revolution
A way to get Karaoke onto our TV with a minimum of fuss, although always with these games / karaoke, it's all about the song selection. Also, I think they covered the songs.

I sing with a decent amount of vibrato so I didn't always get good scores, which annoyed me.

Day 19: Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers (NES)
This was such a fun platformer. As a 2 player game, you could pick up objects to throw, which also included your own co-op partner.

During parties, we'd turn this game into a death match where you'd try to kill your partner in hilarious ways. #365games

Day 18: Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (SNES)
I think we borrowed this from Blockbuster; beat the game within a day. Still fun, but not a great game.

My brother and I watched Power Rangers as kids. I somehow called White Ranger was the Green Ranger and lived off that high for a year.

Day 17: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)
I remember being very frustrated by this game; this turned me off of video game adaptations of shows for awhile.

Early video games were brutal with their difficulty.

The 2nd TMNT game based off the arcade I enjoyed a lot more.

Day 16: Bubble Bobble
Another game my brother and I teamed up on; still have the game music stuck in my head.
I love the multiple uses of bubbles in the game.
Don't think we beat it, the jumping execution was precise towards the end.
Also, amused that the cute dinos are named Bub and Bob.

Day 15: Super Mario Kart (SNES)
F* rainbow road
My brother and I teamed up to beat the 150cc Special Cup; whoever was ahead would try for the win, the other would run interference.
My son and I play this on an emulator console and it's still just as fun.
I learned Mario so the AI wouldn't get him.

Day 14: Warhammer: Dawn of War II
I think this is the last RTS I played.
I played as Space Marines with a buddy of mine who was a damn good Starcraft player, so we stomped people in multiplayer.

I enjoyed the cool small squad mechanics, suppression, and destructable environments without bases.
