We build on the shoulders of giants. This article could have been written today. So much remains the same, with over 40 vibrant public campaigns trying to restore, recreate or reimagine an outdoor pool facility to build health, well being, belonging and joy in our communities across the country.

A good insight into #NUFC fan experiences. While @nufctrust.bsky.social do a superb job in lobbying the club to have a greater appreciation and respect of fans and fan culture, progress is slow (or non existent) in the face of accelerating commercialisation. A new ground will see things move faster.

When Darwin Nunez left the Premier League we were bereft. He was easily the funnest guy to draw in the whole league, a manic embodiment of himbo golden retriever energy. Best of all though, he had a brilliant face.
Anyway, it’s early days, but I think we’ve found our new muse

Absolutely. We've discussed this around research tenders, creative pitches, funding bids, and evaluation reports. As it represents non economic output, maybe the UK productivity lobby could look at this layer of bureaucratic endeavour and figure out a better process to utilise our collective efforts

I'm fairly sure there's an Andy Cole lurking somewhere. But where is a whole other question!

Michael Marmot presented similar data at the recent Healthworks 30th anniversary gathering. Life expectancy, obesity, levels of physical activity etc. A lot of work needed to turn these numbers around regionally.

Frank's digital myth creation is fantastic. It's the parody of ITK accounts that we didn't know we needed. Sean off travelling, Targett left behind in South Korea and now Willock in York maze. Long may it continue, and feature in future kit lanches....

Yes to this. The press conferences are really interesting, friendly exchanges and a good listen. You get the personality of everyone involved. Which means you can avoid the curious dramatisation, interpretation and focus of the media.

Chillingham Road is the worst at the moment. There were some new markings appear near the coast road, which raised hopes. But nothing since. I've one precarious right hand turn that sees me sitting in a box that's long since gone!

Don't get me started on road junction markings. They're almost a thing of the past. Adds another extra layer of danger when cycling, which we could all do without.
